The Challenge: Turning a New Location Into a Brand Experience

The new Gold Dust Pizza Express location was a blank canvas. While the space provided opportunities, it also posed challenges: how to stand out in a busy retail area, communicate the new Express concept, and maintain consistency with the larger Gold Dust Pizza brand. The signage needed to be bold yet refined, cohesive yet eye-catching, and, above all, unmistakably Gold Dust.

The Obsession Begins: Signage That Speaks Volumes

At SOS, signage is more than just functional. It’s an experience. We approached this project with the goal of making Gold Dust Pizza Express an irresistible destination. Each sign was designed to tell a story, capture attention, and guide customers seamlessly from curiosity to action.

The Approach: Designing with Visibility and Style

From the first glance to the final detail, every aspect of the signage design was crafted with precision and purpose.

Key Actions

LED Channel Letter Signage

SOS designed illuminated pan channel letters that combined high visibility with the brand’s aesthetic. The black aluminum returns, white acrylic faces, and gold nugget vinyl overlay gave the signage a modern yet rustic feel, perfectly aligning with Gold Dust Pizza’s identity.

Window Vinyl Decor

The windows featured bold, branded vinyl designs that communicated key messaging about the Express model, from quick to-go options to daily specials.

Interior Signage

Inside the store, signage reinforced the brand experience with cohesive design elements that guided customers and added to the welcoming atmosphere.

Coordination with Vendors

SOS worked closely with United Sign to ensure the design, production, and installation of the signage met Gold Dust Pizza Express’s high standards. This included coordinating landlord approvals and permits to keep the project on schedule.

The Results: A Location That Announces Itself

Gold Dust Pizza Express opened with illuminated channel letters, branded window vinyl and interior signage: drawn, permitted, produced and installed.

Key Outcomes

Lit for Day and Night

The LED channel letters were built to read from the road after dark as clearly as they do in daylight, which is what a busy retail strip demands.

Brand Consistency

The cohesive design elements maintained a strong connection to the Gold Dust Pizza brand while highlighting the new Express concept.

Inside and Out

Interior and exterior signage were drawn as one set, so the brand does not stop at the door.

The Takeaway: Signage That Shines Inside and Out

Signage is the part of a brand people stand inside. This one ran from drawing to permit to installation, with landlord approvals and the sign vendor handled along the way, which is usually where these jobs come apart.
