For the Daringly Distinct
Unhinged but on Brand
Modesto Brands & Beyond
Not Just a StudioA Standard
Since 2012
Colossians 3:23
Professional baseball
Two Pioneer League clubs.
Full franchise identity for the Modesto Roadsters: name, mark, mascots, uniforms and the season that followed. Then the Utah Fry Sauce alternate identity for the Ogden Raptors, whose owner came to us after watching what we did in Modesto.
The condition
Beautifully unwell. Creatively feral.
We're Slightly Obsessed Studios. A condition disguised as a creative agency. We don't follow fads. We rework them, reshape them, and turn them into something nobody can ignore. This isn't just style. It's identity.
If that's you, you're one of us.
Spirit
Led.
Vision
Fed.
Jesus is at the center of this whole beautifully obsessive thing: our marriage, our life, and the work we get to put into the world. We pray about the big stuff, the little stuff, and probably a few things most people would consider wildly unnecessary. We believe creativity is a gift worth stewarding well, people are worth serving well, and Kingdom work can happen anywhere, even in a ballpark, on a menu, across a 49-foot sign, or hidden in the tiniest detail nobody else thought mattered.
We work hard. We care deeply. We try to leave things better than we found them.
And through all of it, He leads.
“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”
Colossians 3:23 NKJV
Marks You've Already Walked Past
Around here, our work is the scenery.
One-colour marks, as drawn. Storefronts, shop banners, decals, hall signs and shirts across the valley.
Things We Obsess Over
Nine ways to lose sleep.
A theme only holds up if it survives everywhere someone meets it: on the field, on the wall, on the plate, on the shirt. So we do the whole thing. All nine, in detail.
Brand Identity & Creative Direction
Logos, marks, sub-brands, naming, rally cries, identity guides. The blueprint for how a thing looks, feels and rallies.
Sports & Alternate Identities
Full franchise identity, alternate nights, uniforms and traditions. A ball club is the ultimate themed brand.
Themed Restaurants & Hospitality
Menus, packaging, storefronts, interiors. Brands where the room, the plate and the mark are one idea.
Mascots & Characters
Designed as cast members with a full system (head, half-body, full-body) for merch, media and on-field.
Merchandise & Product
Design through to the finished physical goods: printed, decorated, fabricated, shipped. Not a mockup handed off.
Signage & Environmental
Wayfinding, in-park identity, murals, storefronts, 49-foot walls. The part people stand inside.
Photography & Visual Content
Product, food, environment, team and game day, shot to match the brand rather than fight it.
Websites & Hosting
Built and kept running on our own infrastructure. Landing pages, online giving, registrations, SEO and analytics.
Campaigns & Promotions
Homecomings, rallies, seasonal pushes, spirit weeks and outreach. Memorable events that drive turnout.
From Glow Riders to Roadsters
Modesto's new ball club had already been introduced under one name. After weeks of community conversation, ownership decided a fresh direction would better honor the city, and opened the door to reimagining everything. They opened it directly to us.
Modesto is cruising country. Horsepower, heritage and heart. On the field since 2026.
01 · The Mark
A neon M, straight off 10th Street
Drawn from midcentury signage and diner culture: bright outlines, motion lines, vintage Americana energy. A name that honors the cars that made the town.

02 · The Mascot
Cruiser the Fox
A San Joaquin kit fox in shades and a leather jacket, behind the wheel of a candy-red roadster. Delivered head-only, half-body and full-body, built as a cast member, not a logo with eyes.

03 · On the Field
Home, away, and the one they'll fight over
Vintage piping, modern tailoring, classic red flourishes. Caps, warmups, team gear and launch-season merch: a full uniform system, not three jersey drawings.

04 · The Whole Thing
It didn't end at the logo sheet
Creative direction across merchandise, uniforms and campaign materials, then ballpark wayfinding and in-park branding. Met one-on-one with ownership throughout. Decisions made collaboratively, not behind closed doors.

The Work
Ale labels, hall signs and a school lion.
Restaurants, breweries, churches, schools, shops and trades, mostly within an hour of the studio. Hover a plate for what it is, or read the case studies.
The Obsession Wall
The whole thing, on one table.
Ale labels, mascots, menus, storefronts, hoodies, billboards, church campaigns and a school lion. A working table, not a gallery.
Slightly Obsessed Studios has been running since 2012. A counter beside this sentence shows the elapsed time to the second.
of obsession, thrown on a table.
The Brand Guardian Relationship
Most studios hand you a logo. We stay and defend it.
We advise owners and leadership, and your own staff executes inside the systems we build, without coming through us for every asset.
Look Better
Make the marketing genuinely better, everywhere it shows up.
Grow Revenue
Design that earns. Merchandise, menus and campaigns that sell.
Build Recognition
An identity people can pick out of a crowded room.
Improve Experience
What the customer, the guest or the fan actually walks through.
Protect the Brand
Steward it over years. The part most people skip.
We don't take work we can't obsess over.
The Kingdom Rate
Where faith leads, our creativity follows.
A reduced pricing structure reserved for faith-rooted, mission-driven work: ministries, faith-led entrepreneurs, and organizations whose work is meant to make a real spiritual, relational or cultural impact.
It is not a reduced scope. Kingdom work receives the same strategy, creative development and craftsmanship we'd bring at full price. Pricing is case by case.
We believe great design should serve a greater purpose. Every detail matters, because every detail can serve the mission.
If that's your work
Tell us what you're building and who it's for. We'll talk about what's possible before we talk about what it costs.
Meet Greg & Andie Kat
She is the tempest.
He is the alchemist.
“I'm slightly obsessed and somewhat infatuated.”
It wasn't just a confession. It was a catalyst. Since 2012, one coastal wedding and countless wild ideas later, he's the architect, she's the storm. Together they built a studio that shapes fixation into identity and ideas into impact.
Greg brings decades of design and photography experience. Andie Kat brings a gift for strategy and storytelling.
Our faith shapes the way we work. For us, creative work is not just design. It is a calling.
