Nine ClientFests In, the Roadsters’ Mascots Are Still Working Daniel Del Real’s Fence Line
Cruiser and Crooner spent Sunday afternoon working the crowd at Dutch Hollow Farms, crane kicks, tinsel wigs, and all.
Dutch Hollow Farms, Modesto, CA · September 20, 2026

Give Crooner a little music and an audience, and the gold sequin jacket finally makes sense.

That was Sunday at Dutch Hollow Farms, where Daniel Del Real threw open the gates for The Del Real Group’s ClientFest, the ninth one now, judging by the shirts everyone was wearing. String lights ran the rafters of the barn, a ferris wheel turned slow against the sky, and specialty corndogs, cotton candy, and funnel cakes moved through the crowd about as fast as the kids did. Right in the middle of it: two Modesto Roadsters, both of them sponsored by Daniel, Cruiser’s leather jacket stitched with THE DEL REAL GROUP across the back so nobody had to ask whose party this was.

Greg and I came out from Slightly Obsessed Studios to support them, his camera close at hand. Halee Smith of Girls Smash Guitars joined us too, guitar over her shoulder even though this one wasn’t a gig for her; her production team, Scott and Jen, stood right behind her the whole afternoon.

No Kid Left Out
Cruiser worked the crowd the way he always does: easy, unhurried, kneeling down for every hug like he had nowhere else to be. Eddie Sanchez, in a ClientFest shirt, pulled him in for a selfie like he’d been rehearsing the pose all week. Crooner, predictably, had other plans. At one point he squared up for a mock Karate Kid crane kick, going toe to toe with Cruiser while the crowd around them laughed. Later, somebody produced a pile of tinsel wigs. Crooner’s was gold, to match his jacket. Cruiser’s was green on one ear, rainbow on the other. They wore them for photo after photo the rest of the day.

Halee worked right alongside them in her Girls Smash Guitars cap and heart-shaped sunglasses, cotton candy in hand, handing out the Halee-and-Cruiser baseball cards she designed and had printed herself. A little girl walked off holding hers with both hands, careful not to bend it.

Nine Years on the Fence Line
The fence Cruiser and Crooner had worked all afternoon carried nine years of client photos, each one framed inside its own little house-shaped cutout: families grinning in front of their own front doors.

Cruiser’s jacket has carried the Del Real Group patch all year. Crooner’s hasn’t, and he is not exactly quiet about it. He showed up with a black Del Real Group backpack slung over his gold jacket anyway, Halee matching him with one of her own.

By four o’clock, nine years looked like a kid running up for a hug and a woman standing on tiptoe to fix Crooner’s tinsel, that same fence of framed front doors behind them, waiting on a tenth.

One more date: fans who want to see Girls Smash Guitars plugged in, plus a surprise appearance from Cruiser, can catch them at Queen Bean Coffee House this Sunday, September 27. All ages, 4 to 8 p.m., doors at 3. Five Years Later opens at 4, Halee and Girls Smash Guitars take the stage at 5:15, and Cruiser closes out the night at 6:30 with Bad Haley, Halee’s own alter ego.
